TEAMwork

AFCAAM and Pickup the Ball Have teamed up to create a new program to serve the young men and women of the Dunbar Community: TEAMwork.

The concept is simple: Increase the chances of employment success through continuing support of the employee and the employer. Here’s the plan:

Train: Participants are trained in resume writing, application completion, interviewing skills, and what employers are looking for in order to stay employed long term. This training is mandatory for a young man or woman to take part in the TEAMwork program.

Employ: TEAMwork develops relationships with employers who are willing to work with the TEAMwork program, and makes qualified candidates resumes available to them.

Assist: TEAMwork helps participants get connected with employers, and prepares them for the workplace including assistance in securing all required paperwork, work clothes and transportation when necessary.

Mentor: TEAMwork, using a network of business people in the community, maintains contact with the participant and the employer to help interface with and evaluate participants. This mentoring process sets the participants up for success at the workplace, and, when transition is necessary, helps make sure that the process is done correctly.

By participating in TEAMwork, YOU will decide who to hire and, if necessary, who to fire. We will not tell you how to run your business. But we will make our candidates available to you, and will assist and support when necessary and appropriate to increase the chances of employment success.

If you are willing to participate, you will be asked to participate in exclusive TEAMwork job fairs, and consider our candidates as local talent who often need someone to believe in them.

Say the word, and we will add you to our list of employers who are investing in a better and brighter future for the Dunbar Community.
